Primary practice focus: Child & family psychological services; provide clinical evaluations & therapy to children, adolescents, & families; parent education. Main theoretical orientation: Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MbCBT). Particular strengths in building coping skills/teaching emotional tools to children (and their parents), including Mindfulness, cognitive & calming strategies, anger- management and stress-reduction. Research Experience:

Doctoral Project , MSPP , May 1998-June 1999. “Pet-Facilitated-Therapy: An Initial Exploration of the Thinking and Theory Behind an Innovative Intervention for Children in Psychotherapy.” Recruited and interviewed clinicians, coordinated, organized and reported qualitative data in thematic format. Emergent themes represented the beginnings of a comprehensive theoretical framework for Pet-Facilitated-Therapy or Animal-Assisted-Therapy. Presented and discussed results of study with fellow students and faculty.

Research Assistant , Denver University, Department of Psychology , October 1994-May 1995. Interviewed families (couples and siblings individually), administered standardized screening forms, coded video tapes of family interactions for Clare M. Stocker, Ph.D. 10 hours weekly.
